Prelude to the 4th!

My 4th of July week started out great!! My parents were in town, and I took time off of work! Two makings for a fantastic week. Mom and Dad cruised in on the motorcycle having taken the most scenic of routes getting from point A (Texas) to point B (PA). Too bad as they got closer it started to rain and they got super soaked! Friday I came home to jackets and close strewn all over my little apartment hanging up trying to get dry. That night we headed over to my friend Anne's house where we had dinner with her and all of the missionaries. It was fabulous. I brought a salad (thanks for your help mom!) and a oreo-mint ice cream pie. It was a huge success!! I was very proud. Sorry no photo of pie, too delicious to stop and take a photo. Saturday was errand day, and I dragged my mom all over Mech-burg trying to find the "perfect" shoes for my Euro trip later this month. No success. Then we came home and I cooked up some scrumptious spaghetti, from scratch thank you very much! Then we headed to Bruster's for ice cream. It started raining as we waited in line; luckily the gal in front of us filled us in on the whole "free second scoop when it's raining" policy they've got going on over there. Genius. Sunday was show and tell at church; Mom and Dad are celebrities. I also found out that one of the Elders knows my cousin. Very cool. Then we came home, ate, and then I opened up a sweat shop in my very own apartment. Okay, well not completely, but I did put my mom's mad sewing skills to work. Monday the padres met up with me for lunch and met all, I mean both of my co-worker friends. Monday night we went to Five Guys for dinner and holy smokes, my life has been changed!! By far, hands down, bar none the best burger I have ever had. Even my pops agreed. Well not that it was the best burger of my life, but that it was an amazing burger. Then we followed up with ice cream (I know, more ice cream. Hey we like ice cream, nothing wrong with that!) at Maggie Moo's. Yum. Better batter = pure ecstasy. Then Tuesday came around. Dad cruised out early to VA while my loving mother hung back to organize/clean my apartment from the motorcycle gang that had been camping out there all weekend. After I got home from work, I packed up and mom and I headed out to VA!!! Oh the open road!
