Women who choose to apply perfume or excessive amounts of hairspray in the restroom should seriously reconsider their choice of using a potently odorous product in a small, unventilated, already stinky shared space.
It’s just work people; not a night out on the town.
I know, I know. I'm being no fun again. Ba-humbug.
All in all a conglomeration of random thoughts and the obviously evident.

Miracles do happen!
Last night while I was cleaning up in the kitchen, from completely out of no where, Stas poses this questions: "what are we going to name our baby?" Seriously, Stas, seriously!?!?
For those of you who are unaware, my dear husband has been quite mum on the whole issue of baby names. He has explained to me that he didn't see the need to discuss it until the baby arrived. As a very decisive person, this makes sense for him. He's even blown away by all the people who keep asking if we have a name picked out already: "Is that what most people do?" Yes Stas, this is what most people do.
In much earlier conversations on the topic of baby names he did say that I could name the baby whatever I want as long as he gets veto power. Seems fair enough. So I had just been planning to come up with a list of a few options I liked, meet the little guy, and then run it by Stas.
Well it looks like we'll be taking a slightly more typical route on this one.
Two things still remain the same: We won't make the final decision until after the baby arrives, and I'm not sharing any of our potential names. Yes Plip and Dad, I know, I know; I am no fun.
Non-related random tidbits:
-my co-worker friend just gave me one of her pieces of toast with jam on it. Bless her. That was very kind. Go figure I'd be extra hungry this morning. PB&J waffles for dinner don't really cut it.
-sometimes it is hard to focus at work when the baby is moving around. I get distracted and am more interested in what he's up to and when he'll move again. Sorry work; I'll try to be productive while he's sleeping.
-in a work email I read this statement "one of the key resources is going to be on maternity leave in the not-too-distant future." Yep, that's me! I'm just glad that "the not-too-distant future" is a relative term, because to me the end of March still seems like forever away!

30 weeks
Honestly, in my pre-pregnancy days I thought "when I'm pregnant I am going to post weekly photos and be SO on top of up-dates." This is probably based on the idea that I loved seeing my friends' "progress" and liked to daydream about it for myself.
The truth is that I just never seem to get around to it. I guess I haven't really "made the time" is more accurate.
Dreams & car seats
Dear MLK Jr,
Thank you for having a dream. Thank you for all the progress and change. I am grateful that I live in a (for the most part) now tolerant society.
But on a more personally applicable and shallow note, thank you for the Federal Holiday. As a result I got a nice three day weekend with some pretty decent weather. And also, thank you for inspiring retailers to have big-time sales so I could get 20% off of our new car seat!
Regards,
J

things of note
Today is Friday, and 5 pm can't get here fast enough.
But here are a few things of note;
But here are a few things of note;
- I have recently become quite obsessed with car seats and terrified of strollers. I am mostly comfortable with car seats and know what I want (at least what I think I want anyway). But strollers are just a whole other monster I am not yet ready to conquer.
- Today at lunch Co-worker Friend and I ventured to Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot. I was overwhelmed. This is the first time I've walked around a baby store/section of a store since I've been pregnant. This is the first time I was in a store and not just perusing stuff online. I actually pushed a stroller and picked up a car seat. This is huge for me. It was very exciting.
- I had my first stranger run-in! A co-worker, who I don't know and have never talked to before, stopped me on my way back from the water cooler with an "OH you are expecting!" She was really nice and asked when I was due, how I was feeling, and if we knew if we were having a boy or a girl. She has a son and shared a few laughs about how the grow up fast (he's 17) and say funny stuff. She was nice and didn't try to touch my belly or anything, so I'd rank it as a pleasant experience.
Non baby-related things of note:
- I had lunch at our newly finished local Sonic. Finally after two and a half years here, we have one that is less than an hour's drive away! It was delicious. I had a PB and hot fudge milkshake. It took me back to my sixteenth birthday extravaganza. [Insert awesome memories here.]
- I bit my tongue when I sneezed, and it hurt really bad. I hope it doesn't happen again.
- Buster went to the vet on Wednesday for his annual check-up and to get a booster shot. He weighed in at 19.6 pounds. Geez. Remember when we were told he'd max out at 10? Haha, that's funny. I'm okay with it though; he makes an even better snuggler this size!
That's all for now! I hope you all have a smashing Friday and the five comes soon!
