Word to the wise: If you want to pull a funny prank on your boss, don’t tell him that you’re pregnant. One of my co-workers did this and the outcome was not quite what she expected. When our boss found out about the supposed pregnancy, he was really excited and happy for her. Honestly, that part was pretty cool that he cared, but made us (those who knew) feel super crappy. When the boss found out it was just an April Fools’ joke he responded with “why on earth would you ever do something like that? You just don’t joke about that sort of thing. This is just ridiculous. I can’t believe you thought that would be funny!” I don’t think that I can accurately portray to you how upset our poor boss was at having his emotions toyed with. I felt bad, and I didn’t even do anything to contribute to the charade.
Anyway, Happy April Fools’ Day!!
