Lost

Recently I decided to renew my love affair with the TV show Lost.

This love affair started roughly two years ago when my roommate Tracie brought from a trip home to ID the first season on DVD to our little apartment, and it was never quite the same.

This show is very addicting, especially on DVD! So I tried to discipline myself by only allowing me to watch it while working out. Easy enough a solid 42 minute work out where I don't even feel my body because my mind is so consumed with the deeply entwined plot! Saturdays were great because I didn't have to hurry to class, so I could watch two in a row!! It took84 minutes on a treadmill before my mind would realized there was a very tired body attached to it. I still insist that Lost is the best thing to work out to. The best was chatting about it with my roommates inquiring which episode they were on and giving them sneak peaks on whose story was coming up next. Whenever I walked through the front room and it was on the TV I was compelled to stay and watch with them, no matter is I'd already seen it. I remember coming home one night to find two roomies crammed on a twin bed and the lap top on the desk playing lost. Well I had to join them!! I'm pretty sure it was well past midnight, and there was no where else to sit but the bed, but we had to fit in another episode!!!

This history behind my love affair probably has more to do with fond memories of bonding with my roommates than the TV show, but nonetheless I am curious to know what happened after the first season.
While frequenting my local public library, I picked up a copy of season one: disc one, and thanks to being sick in bed most of last week I was able to view the four episodes, no sweat! Well Sunday (yesterday) I was getting really anxiously to refresh my memory of what happened on episodes 5, 6, 7, etc. so thanks to modern technology I hopped online and watched them for free, having to only suffer through 4-thirty second commercials. Not bad. And let's be honest, I didn't really watch them. That's when I took my snack breaks!! So after downing four episodes in almost one sitting, I have declared a "one episode a day" rule. And will be picking up disc three from the library tonight. I've already reserved it; I'm on the ball.
So for anyone who has a lot of free time, or even just a simple curiosity, I'd encourage you to give it a shot. And then we can discuss the theories behind the island!! Okay maybe not literally, but it's still a cool show.
**As a side note, Stas refuses to watch the show with me, because it is "too mainstream" for him. He sure is missing out!!

OH! So that's what you were getting at the library. And to think that I thought you were being all studious getting some good literature!

I really like that show, it first started right after we got married - if I remember correctly. And I Shayne never wanted to watch it with me... so I'd be in the room watching on that TV and he'd be in the living room on the other (sound framiliar - although it was Stas on a laptop or studying). Anyhow, now I have a love/hate relationship with it. Love it and then hate it when absolutly nothing noteworthy happens in an episode. Though this love/hate thing didn't happen until this past year... so, you've got a ways to go.

We had the 1 episode a day rule while we watch 24 on DVD... though it was usually broken.

Good job on the post! And cool new background... Oh, and thanks for calling me back!

I just started this season and went back and watched all three previous seasons online before it started.. Oh dang Julie!! I LOVE THAT SHOW!! And actually it is very NOT mainstream (other than it is a hit) I can theorize all day about that.. anyways.. hope you are feeling so much better!!

I know so many people that love Lost. I have yet to see an episode. Maybe one of these days I will have to rent the first season. Hope all is well for you and Stas. We miss you!
