Car Seats

Hello blogosphere. Yes, it has been quite some time. We are still alive and busier than ever. But I need some advice, so I have come crawling back to you.

If anyone is still reading this blog, would you please share your thoughts on convertible car seats.

Nikolai has (nearly) outgrown his infant seat, and I need some advice from my trusted fellow mommy-friends.

What has worked for you? What brand/model do you like? What are good/bad things to look for/watch out for?

Muchos gracias!

We have an evenflo alpha and omega car seat that is perfect for growing babies. We kept Bradley backward in it until he was almost two and he never had a problem. You almost can't go wrong though, they're all pretty safe and comfortable.

One thing to watch for is the easiness of taking the cover off the clean it. I promise there will be accidents of one type or another and you will not want to take forever and be frustrated when you try to remove the cover to wash it (think, blowouts, puking, etc...)

We have the alpha omega carseat too but I thought it was safety 1st brand. It's been great for us, and it was not very expensive at costco.
Good luck!

Here's what we learned about car seats: We had a car seat gifted to us when char was born, it was used but in really great condition. I HATED it. IT was super hard to latch and the handle was hard to put down, so when it was time to change seats I bought a very nice and very expensive car seat. I love it, but a few months ago we decided to get a second seat for pablo's car so i went to target and got an evenflo one for $80. it had enough padding and seemed like it worked well, it is chars favorite seat and i still love it to this day. so. . . i guess im trying to say, that whatever you find at the store that you like and think will work is probably a good investment. don't do what i did and spend a ton of money! cuz sometimes i really regret it! (but this is our little secret, don't tell pablo!)
